We had amazing encounters on the 12-day trip, rode incredible trails, and simply had a fantastic time. We can proudly say that we made new friends.

Namaste,
I'd been planning a trip to the Himalayas for years and ill tell you this, the Himalayas do not just exist — they arrive in you. Hear me out…
There are places in the world that are beautiful, and then there are the Himalayas — where beauty feels sacred, where silence speaks, where the air itself seems older than memory. This wasn’t just a holiday, it was a quiet awakening.

Every sunrise and sunset spilled gold across peaks that looked close enough to touch, yet powerful enough to humble every thought I’ve ever had. The scenery wasn’t just breathtaking — it took my breath, as if reminding me that I am small, and that being small in a vast, ancient world is a gift.

The mountains don’t rush you; they don’t demand. They simply stand — patient, eternal — and somehow in their stillness, everything noisy inside you begins to settle. I felt it in my chest first: A loosening, A softening. Then the very raw, authentic gratitude rose and met me unexpectedly and without permission on numerous occasions.

There were moments when emotion caught in my throat — not from sadness, but from a fullness so pure it almost hurt. The kind of fullness that makes you realise happiness isn’t loud. It isn’t flashy. It is quiet. It's cold morning air filling your lungs. It's prayer flags whispering in the wind. It's the crunch of earth beneath your boots. It's locking eyes with a stranger and sharing a smile that says, "we are lucky to be here" accompanied with a gentle exchange of "Namaste".

In the Himalayas, I didn’t chase happiness. I remembered it.
I remembered who I am beneath the deadlines, beneath the expectations, beneath the noise. I found joy in the simplest rituals — warm honey, lemon ginger tea in chilled hands, the glow of dusk folding over distant peaks, the profound comfort of doing absolutely nothing except existing.

It felt emotional because it was real. It felt magical because it was honest. It felt unforgettable because it touched something ancient inside my soul. This wasn’t just travel. It was gratitude in its purest form. It was standing on sacred ground and feeling my heart say, "This is what it means to be alive" and NONE of this holiday would have unfolded the way it did without the guidance of Ashish.

Everything was organised from the minute I landed at the airport where I was greeted with the biggest, most welcoming smile. Most evenings involved a briefing so I knew what was ahead for the next day and when bad weather impacted the schedule, Ashish provided options.

His local knowledge and experience as a guide is second to none. His unconditional passion for his beautiful country reflects in all that he does and with the local people he engages with. He is skilled in navigating the mountains, reading body language determining your ability to climb the mountains and encouraged me through the altitude enabling me to reach the Thorong La Pass in the snow. That was some feat.

In addition to this, he is an equally skilled mountain biker and moves effortlessly on his MTB. Gliding in unison, following the flow of the path, he took me out of my comfort zone where the confidence and trust in my bike grew. Then there's his presence, while professional, he is also very calming to be around and has an element of cheekiness. I'm forever grateful to have met him in a world of millions. And when (not 'if') I return, Ashish will be the one I call.

I can’t recommend Trail Himalayas enough.

The rating limits me to 5 stars, but Ashish & Trail Himalayas are absolutely worthy of 10*.

Ashish was so 'on to it' the whole time. Everything was sorted in advance, this made the trip so easy and worry free.
Ashish's knowledge of the terrain and side trails is very extensive, so he can cater for any level of rider skill, ensuring everyone is having a great time.

Ashish guided me on a mountain bike adventure through the Lower Mustang area. He was friendly, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local terrain and culture. His expertise extended far beyond just biking - he had impressive knowledge of local history, geology, and the amazing surrounding mountains. If I ever get a chance to return to Nepal for another mountain bike trip, I'll definitely think of Ashish. I highly recommend him!
