Overview

Pikey Peak

Phaplu, a charming village in Nepal’s Solukhumbu District, is the launchpad for one of the Himalayas’ most thrilling enduro MTB adventures. Nestled in the foothills of the Everest range, Phaplu offers seamless access to high-altitude trails, Sherpa culture, and panoramic mountain views. Riders can explore ancient monasteries, Buddhist stupas, and traditional villages while navigating rugged terrain.
The region’s dirt roads and forested singletracks are perfect for enduro biking, with jeep shuttles available for efficient uplifts. The crown jewel is the Natrange Trail Centre, Nepal’s first dedicated downhill trail network—hand-built by local legend Tangi Rebours. These steep, technical descents above Phaplu challenge even seasoned riders, offering adrenaline-pumping flow and epic Himalayan backdrops.
Whether you're chasing altitude, culture, or raw terrain, Pikey Peak delivers an unforgettable enduro MTB experience in the shadows of Everest.

Trip of a lifetime Trip of a lifetime - all possible thanks to Trail Himalayas and Ashish and Prachit! We had an ambitious plan to connect the Upper Mustang, Annapurna and Manaslu circuits by bike - Ashish helped create an itinerary for us with great local knowledge and organised the most amazing guide for us! So much work went on behind the scenes for us and we are so appreciative, we felt so welcomed when we got to Nepal. We had a few bumps along the way which affected our plans but the Trail Himalayas team were dynamic in their problem solving and sorted everything out for us, even took us riding for a few days in Kathmandu when circumstances kept us there longer. Couldn’t recommend these guys more - so kind, fun and adventurous!

Pikey Peak and Phaplu Trails I had planned to do this trip for years, but never had a chance. This year it finally happened. About one week around Pikey Peak and Phaplu. Beautiful places and great people. Trails were a bit too advanced for my beginner skill, but in the end, it helped me to push myself and still have a great time! Ashish had picked cool tea houses with great local food and I got to experience Nepal again in a completely different way. As a guide, I find Ashish very calm, friendly and always understanding, even during my “mild” breakdowns :) Overall great trip and cool experience to see Nepal. Definitely would do another trip with him as there is so much to discover regarding to mountain biking. Thank you!

A+ for the Annapurna Circuit Wow, What a trip! I met Ashish & Sanjeev in Pokhara, where we went through all the gear before setting off by Jeep to the start of the Circuit. All the gear was top notch (bike, helmet, hold all), & on arrival to our start point (Tal) the accommodations were also very comfortable. I loved the scenery on this trip (was also very lucky with the weather). The different environments we cycled through, the juxtaposition of the route, the difference between the valley you ascend vs descend… it was just non-stop beauty. I was a little nervous for the Thorong La Pass (altitude & descending is not my forte), but with the acclimatization plan I ended up being fine physically, & just hike-a-biked the sections I was uncomfortable with. But the route to & from the Pass… A+! Riding is mostly on dirt jeep track for the first couple of days; single track for a couple of days (some hike-a-bike while your lungs get used to the altitude); then a combo of jeep road & single track on the way out. You can also ride the whole loop, but that probably adds ~6 days of riding on fairly intimidating roads (traffic, limited passing opportunities). Ashish can tailor the trip to your interests- send him a message & get chatting to see what might work best for you!

Mountain Biking in Nepal While celebrating Holi, I accidentally stumbled across a bike shop in Kathmandu back in March while on an eight-month tour around the world, and what followed wasn't just a bike ride, it was one of the top experiences of my entire trip. To this day, when people ask my favorite country, I tell them Nepal, entirely because of the mountain biking adventure Ashish and his friends set up for me. From the moment we met, Ashish was brilliant. He handled everything, ensuring I had a perfectly set-up bike and all the necessary gear. He is genuinely knowledgeable about the local trails, but beyond that, he is a great guide, kind, friendly, and always ready with a warm smile. The riding itself was great. He set up shuttle laps, creating the same incredible, fun atmosphere I'm used to back home in Canada. It felt less like being on a guided tour and more like riding with old friends. If you are a mountain biker and find yourself in Nepal, booking a trip with Ashish is non-negotiable. He provides professional service with unmatched local knowledge and genuine warmth. I simply cannot recommend him highly enough.

Amazing guide, amazing riding! Ashish guided me on a mountain bike adventure through the Lower Mustang area. He was friendly, caring, and incredibly knowledgeable about the local terrain and culture. His expertise extended far beyond just biking - he had impressive knowledge of local history, geology, and the amazing surrounding mountains. If I ever get a chance to return to Nepal for another mountain bike trip, I'll definitely think of Ashish. I highly recommend him!
